Intuitive gameplay with a comical narrative to add to it. This is definitely worth giving a try.. This is a good game to play with friends in terms of fighting hordes of undead and mythical beasts. Be forewarned, however, the game is VERY short and you can essentially finish the whole thing in about 10 hours.I was extremely disappointed especially considering I bought 4 copies of this to play with my family and we completed it in only a few days. Building up your weapons is a little too easy in this game which takes away the reward and replayability factors. If you have the money to burn for a short game that *IS* fun to play, then go ahead. I'm simply disappointed in the fact that I dumped over $200.00 USD for 4 copies only to complete it before the weekend. I hope Rebellion is kind enough to add more levels and challenges to the game for people who spend the money on this game.Until then, I hate to say I wouldn't recommend this at it's current price.. It's a really nice game but that price tag for 5 hours of content is not worth it.. I feel bad buying this game on a grey market key reseller. This is a great game on PC that deserves to be played with friends. Doesn't really get old and runs like a dream on almost all systems from this past half decade. My now 3 year old 970 runs the game at 80+fps on ultra. Supports Vulkan and DX12 guaranteeing great performance from either AMD or NVIDIA cards. Sounds are great and the animations are fluid. Music is fitting and gets you in the mood as well. Theres nothing negative about this game that I can think of at all. If you are looking for a game to sink some time into with a few friends and youre tired of the classics like Left 4 Dead then this is a very viable alternative. Worth full price and then some. As an added bonus it even goes well past 120fps on medium settings so you 1060/580 owners can take full advantage of those high refresh rate monitors.. The best thing with the game is exploration.Maps are big enough and you should always be aware for secrets and hidden objects. Shooting mechanics similar to Sniper Elite series, monster designs are ok but nothing special. Chapters are long if you want to find all hidden objects and bonuses. Respawn mechanism is so funny. Optimisation is also good enough to play all settings at ultra with GTX 970 at 60 to 70 frames. Overally the game deserves to play but does it deserve 50$ or 40£? NO. This is not a AAA story based game.. I must say I am quite disappointed with the company behind Strange Brigade. I purchased three copies of the game. One for myself and two for a friend and her fiancé. My laptop is a few years old but her fiancé’s is brand new. Neither he or I could get the game to work on our systems. I emailed Support asking for help. I got ‘Tommy’ whose first initial response was asking for more information about my system and my friend’s fiancée.I provided it. Then waited weeks. And waited. Finally he responded with “Get a new graphics card.” I wrote back that I doubt that this is the kind of answer most people would want and could he please review the specs as the game should work based on the minimum requirements - that it might be something else.He responded “Take the advice or not”. That was it. A literal “hey stop wasting my time and go screw yourself.” Most professional businesses would respond with something like “I’m sorry but the issue does seem to be your specs as far as I can tell. I think an upgrade would help but if not please consider our games in the future when you can get a new graphics card.” Nope. Just an unhelpful and rude tech support rep.I’ll be returning the game copies and filing a complaint. I understand in this day and age we get people cutting us off in traffic, flipping us off, rude crass people in line while waiting. But this kind of behavior loses sales and fans. I’m guessing ‘Tommy’ has cost his company a number of sales. And if the other reps act the same way I’m sure even more revenue has been lost. Some might feel I’m overreacting. Personally I think Steam should should read and react consider how many of their customers have publicly stated they are not getting help despite making hundreds of comments on the forums asking for help. It’s their reputation that is being damaged too.. Strange Brigade is at it's core, a horde mode shooter. The levels can be repetitve, and the bosses feel all in all the same. But Strange Brigade over shadows all of that. The game is best enjoyed co-op, lets make that clear. But the game is fun, and enjoyable, and offers something different in these times of Battle Royal and Open World Survival PVP. The price is bit much, that I can agree on. But if you enjoy Call of Duty Zombies and it's round style survival mechanics, you'll feel right at home.At the end of the day, as I said it's a horde style surviva shooter. But it sets itself apart by it's standards of style and grace. It's a beautiful game, that doesn't require a monster system to enjoy.Do you have a low to mid range system?, do you enjoy co-op gameplay?, are you a fan of COD:Zombies?. Then this game is for you.. Content of this game is quite bland, pretty much same quest with different graphic as code, same enemy , very boring.. Looks good, but you get tired of it very fast. So it isnt worth all that money.. Hi,I was interested in this game since its release, but I wanted for some decent sale to buy it. I bought it 3 days ago, a played some time (I finished the campaign) and, as a coop veteran, I'd like to write my opinion about it, hoping that maybe someone near the devs will see it and maybe take notes.Let's start with the pro:Gameplay is valid. It's funny and intuitive. I had no doubts about it tho, it's a well tested gameplay format. The level design is pretty good. The path it's easy to follow, the arenas are well structured, the secrets are both easy to find and easy to miss. The setting is very interesting, reminds me of "The Mummy" (1999 movie) and Serious Sam.There's a nice variety of enemies.Traps are goooood. It's not a common thing is coop game and I like them, because are efficient and easy to use.Game is well optimized.Cons:There is a complet lack of endgame. Or even midgame. There's just really no reason to keep playing after the campaign is done, except for the fun of shooting mummies, that after some time vanishes too. There are a lot of potentials ways to implement some kind of grind/farm mechanics here, for example: levels on weapons (that could unlock gems' slots), lore about enemies every X enemies of that type killed, tiers of gems that requires gems of lower tier to be merged together (ex. 2 T1 Quickfire Gems = 1 T2 Quickfire Gem etc), incrementing the power of the gem at every tier, weapons' skins on every X kills or X levels, etc etc. There are really dozens of alredy multiple tested ways to implement grind and farm and they are all easy to think.Even if there is a nice variety of enemies, truly there are only 4 types: meele (splitted in armoured and unarmoured), ranged (that are basically all the same, only difference it the projectile they shoot), runners and miniboss (minotaur). It's a coop ffs, where are the disablers? Without them everyone is basically fighting by himself and there isn't a "team", but just a bunch of guys that happened to have the same objective. Also the enemies should have some type of resistance and weakness with certain types of weapons, for example heavily armored mummies should be weak against bolt action and/or semiautomatic, while being extremly resistant against smg and pistols. That could have pushed the players to organize a party with some logic, enforcing the "team" aspect of the game, and actually use the stations that allow them to change equip while still in the map. I mean cmn, you give me the possibility to change equip MIDGAME and no actual reason to do so? Just why?The gun system is bad. Without considering that some DLC guns are basically buffed version of base game guns (no problem with that tho, it has always been a coop thing), they all feels the same. There are only 3 types of primary weapons (shotguns, smg and bolt action/semi automatic rifles). Bolt action and semi automatic should feel different but the actually feel the same. Also they shouldn't be usable by every characters imo, every one should have access to a shared pool of weapons but still have some specialized weapons that fit their passives. Or some characteristic weapon like an Assegai for the african chick. And what about some meele primary weapon like a Katana for the japanes guy? Or a whip for the rodeo guy? Endless possibility here. The secondaries are a joke. Their damage is a joke, their accuracy is a joke, they all feel the same. I'd rather have some particular weapon with limited ammo, like a sawed off shotguns to pair with a bolt action, rather than a nearly useless version of my primary with endless ammo. Also ammo are everywhere and there are very poor occasion, mainly the boss fights, where the player will end the primary's ammunition, so the pistols are actually useless. The base price is way too high considering what this game offers. There are other coop games that offers more for 2/3 of the price, sometimes even less. Why should anyone buy a "coop" AAA game for 50€, that in the brightest scenario could offer 30/40 hours of gameplay, while there are 30€ indie developed coop that could offers hundreds of hours of gameplay? There is clearly a massive assets' recycling here that could and should have been developed better considering the price. It's a shame, the setting is very interesting and could have been a blast not for gameplay originality but for the entire game setup.I bought the deluxe edition for 22€ and I still feel kinda scammed, the game feels rushed in everything but the maps and the gameplay. If it was described as coop campaign game I'd have no problem with it, but right know is advertised as a coop with replayability, that currently is very poor. Let's hope for future updates but hope is little, just too much work to do.My grade is 5/10. Minor bug fixes and improvements!: A patch has been deployed to improve the following:-Ending scene should now skip directly to credits after it is over-Skeletons now spawn with very slight color variations randomly to break monotony-Some meshes missing were put in place-Door should now slow down with friction-Some pots that didn't break are either fixed or removed-Slight environment changes-Skeletons should now be a littler harder to kill to give the game a bit more of a challenge-Fixed a visual bug where water would splash close to the end of the map-Unbreakable orbs are gone-Weapons breaking due to 0 durability now make a soundIf any of these issues still persist please let us know on the forums.. Patch 2!: Some more general fixes and improvements.-Fixed an issue where you could throw your weapon through the wall with iron bars and lose it making the player unable to progress.-FIxed a bug where the main menu camera would randomly move.-Fixed some translation issues.-Improved some aspects of the main menu map as well as the main map.-FIxed a rare fatal crash when attacking with a dagger with low durability.-FIxed the unbreakable pots... again, for sure this time.-Fixed some issues in the map where the player could get out of bounds.-Mouse cursor no longer appears when the game begins. If you find any bugs or just have suggestions don't forget to post them on the community hub :). Ashes Bug fixes, minor visual improvements and speed runs: Some achievements where bugged and thanks to a very kind user NighT WolF we tracked them all and now they are fixed. You can now get all those sweet achievementsWe also resized some particles that were a bit "too much".In other news, "Ashes" is now on speedrun.com (https://www.speedrun.com/ashes), the current record is at 17m 29s which is quite good for a game with 1 hour of gameplay, so if you want to challenge the record now is your chance.See you all in the dungeon :)
